The Pearl Izumi Attack Short Sleeve Jersey is a nice looking and very functional jersey for cyclists. If you are used to riding in Performance Bicycle or Bike Nashbar branded jerseys, then the Pearl Izumi Attack Jersey will definitely be a step up.
The main body of the Pearl Izumi Attack Short Sleeve Jersey is made of 100% polyester, while the sleeves are made of 92% polyester and 8% spandex. It has three roomy pockets on the back and a full-length zipper on the front. I’ve worn this jersey on long rides when the heat-index was over 105 degrees and have found it to wick away perspiration very well. The bottom hem of this jersey has a silicone grip strip that helps keep the jersey in place and prevents it from creeping up during your ride.
This jersey has a “club fit.” If you are used to riding in Performance Bicycle brand jerseys, then this jersey will seem a bit small. If you are used to riding in jerseys like the professionals use, then this jersey will seem a bit large. I think the sizing is just about perfect, except for the sleeves which seem a bit short to me.
Several advertisements for this jersey claim it has “a hidden sweat-proof pocket.” Pearl Izumi apparently intended to add this feature to this jersey, but it never made it into production. Nearly all the ads also mention that this jersey has “reflective elements to increase visibility in low-light conditions.” While this is technically correct, they fail to mention that the “reflective elements” are incredibly small (just the Pearl Izumi name and logo) and are really not of any real value.
The Pearl Izumi Attack Jersey is available in five sizes (Small to XX-Large) and in several color combinations, including Black/black, Green/black, Red/black, Blue/black, Yellow/black, and White/black. This jersey retails for $65, but is available at several online retailers for around $55.
